Course Information

This fun and exciting course generates a passion for coding and assists in learning the Coding language, Python. Learn how to build structures, create games and manipulate the world of Minecraft through the power of code.

(Note: If you dont know what level to enrol your child start them in Level 1. We will assess them once they start and move them to the level that most suits their abilities)

Level 1
This course is designed for students who have done some coding before and have a basic understanding of how to Coding works. By the end of the course they will be able to create basic games, build bridges and change worlds through the language of Python.

Level 2
Building on their previous knowledge gained in the “Hacking Minecraft Level 1” course, your child will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how the Python code can manipulate the Minecraft world. In this course they will continue to develop knowledge of the Python language and learn how to utilise more of the Minecraft modules to import images, generate amazing 3D objects and complex buildings, in to their very own Minecraft world.

Level 3
Keep growing their skills and learn more ways in which Python can manipulate the Minecraft world. Teleportation, games, interactive dance floors and creating forests at the push of a button are just some of the new challenges they will work on in this level.

Level 4
The final part of the Hacking Minecraft courses, has your child pushing the boundaries of what they have learnt so far. They will be coding things from stair cases and pyramids right through to cities filled with houses and interactive haunted mansions. An exciting way to wrap up their Hacking Minecraft courses.

Suitable for ages 8+, and kids that have done some Coding before.

This course requires some previous knowledge of Coding

What to bring

Lunch (if attending the full day course), Snacks (no nuts please), and a drink.

We provide all the equipment require for this course, yet if you have your own Raspberry Pi you wish to use you can bring that along.

Holiday Courses:
2 Full Days
Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm

Term Courses:
6 Saturdays (1.5 hours per session)
Time: 11:30am – 1:00pm

At the successful conclusion of the 3 courses your child should have a good grasp on the basics of the coding language Python. This then leads perfectly in to the next course of learning the language, Python, in a more pure form. If from this your child has more of an interest in the games side of coding they would then be suited to move across to our Game Design courses.

NB: Courses will run subject to a minimum number attending.
