This course is designed for those who have a passion for creating complex games. Moving away from building the basic types of games with predetermined settings, in this course they will have the opportunity to code more complex games. Learn how to create more complex scrolling shooters, endless runners and even detailed RPG games.

Comprising of 4 Levels, each level takes 6 weeks (or 2 full days) and builds on the skills developed in the previous level. Have your child complete just the one level or go on to become a master this whole course by completing all 4.

  • Level 201
    Introducing the next level of Game Maker Studio 2, here we explore the text coding and what can be achieved. Through the creation of a top down shooter style game this course focuses on introducing the Game Maker Language and will have them making games in no time.
  • Level 202
    This level is for those who have completed the level 1 course and is designed to extend their skills further by building on their previous knowledge. Here we continue to develop their knowledge of the Game Maker Language through the creation of and endless runner style game using more complex controls, gravity, player tracking, random spawning etc.
  • Level 203
    Using all the skills developed over the last 2 levels, this course is designed to showcase what they have learnt so far. Here we take things further as we explore the world of RPG style games. Focusing on map creation and layout design this course will really start to bring out the talented game designer in your child.
  • Level 204
    The final part of the Game Design (Intermediate) courses, here we continuing building on with the game they started in Level 3. Adding extra parts to their game, giving it a story-line and focusing on game play, we examine the story-line of the game and introduce the use of algorithms to assist with planning and designing their own RPG.


Suitable for ages 10+ and have experience writing with a coding language or kids that have completed the Introduction to Game Design courses.


This course requires the completion of the Introduction to Game Design courses or previous knowledge of Game Maker Studio 2.

We provide all the equipment need for this course, yet if you have a laptop you would your child to use you can send that along.


At the successful completion of these courses they will be ready to design and build their own games from scratch to play at home or move on to the next level of Game Design and learn how to make 3D and VR games with Unity.
