Overview

This course is designed for those who want to take their game design skills to the next level and learn one of the premier game development platforms (Unity).

Whether you are interested in 2D games, 3D games or even Virtual Reality, Unity is the program that can get you there. In this course you will go through and build a range of games increasing in difficulty and complexity as you become more confident in your new skills.

Comprising of 4 Levels, each level takes 6 weeks (or 2 full days) and builds on the skills developed in the previous level. Have your child complete just the one level or go on to become a master this whole course by completing all 4.

  • Level 301
    Introducing Unity through fun and challenging tasks. This course focuses on helping them become confident in the software as they create their first 3D game.
  • Level 302
    This level is for those who have completed the level 1 course and is designed to extend their skills further by building on their previous knowledge. In this level they will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the software learn more complex features of the Unity program and create a 3D car racing game (with physics).
  • Level 303
    The 3rd part of our Advanced Game Design course, this level is designed to build on the skills developed in the previous 2 parts. In this course they will take their gaming design skills to the next level with the introduction of VR game design, complex events, and the creation of their first Virtual Reality environment. Build the roller-coaster of your own design and have it travel through a landscape that you created.
  • Level 304
    The final level of out “Advanced Game Design” course, here they have the opportunity to apply what they have learnt so far though the creation of their very own VR World. They will learn about how to manipulate objects in VR and interact with the environment that they create. A great way in which to wrap up and display what they have learnt throughout this course.

Audience

Suitable for higher ages 13+, and kids that have done Coding before.
Younger kids with a detailed understanding of Coding and Game Design may also be suited for this course. If you are not sure, please contact us and we will help you decide.

Prerequisite

This course requires sound knowledge of Coding and Game Design.

What to bring

Lunch (if attending the full day course), Snacks (no nuts please), and a drink.

Equipment

We provide all the equipment need for this course, yet if you have a laptop you would your child to use you can send that along.

Outcomes

At the successful completion of these courses you will be ready to make your own games to play at home or share with others.
